Great comic – made me laugh!

I’m much the same as you – I think Gowalla is visually a lot more appealing. Though getting the title of “mayor” in a place sounds pretty appealing. The competitive aspect in Gowalla comes from the who has more pins, which isn’t as awesome sounding as “mayor”. Maybe they’ll rethink their strategy to make it a bit more competitive with FourSquare?

I’ve really gotta put FourSquare through it’s paces tho, haven’t used it as much as Gowalla. I definitely haven’t found any loopholes!

I just started using foursquare recently since it just became available in Singapore a short time ago. It’s fun. I mean, I don’t really know what to do with it since there aren’t any special deals for ‘mayors’ here yet, but it’s entertaining. I even added two venues when I was in Kuala Lumpur last week.
