Is this the man of 1,000 faces? No, not quite…..

When I thought up this comic, I checked to see if it had been done before.
As far as I have been able to tell, this piece of absolute comedy gold has not been used before! Amazing!
It is such as easy joke to make, that it makes me wonder why it has not been done before?

My theory on this is that all the funny people out there (you know, the ones who are super ultra cool & really “get” twitter) are busy making hilarious new words with a “TW” at the front of it.
For example:
twalking: walking while twittering via text
twake-up: tweeting as soon as you wake up in the morning, mostly before performing any other morning ritual
twelp: asking for help
twerfew: a self-imposed time of night after which no more tweets are allowed
tweetypo: a typo in a tweet
twleep: state resembling sleep

Ha ha ha ha ha ha !
Oh, ok… Let me just wait until you have goten your breath back after laughing so hard……

My issue with these kinds of terms is threefold.

  1. Most of these words are longer than the real word, so they actually take up additional characters in a tweet
  2. They are, on the whole, extremely hard to say and make you sound like you have a speech impediment when you attempt to drop them into conversations to display how cool & with-it you are.
  3. Using most of these words display just how uncool & out of touch with things you really are.
(seriously – these “tw” terms are soooooo end of 2008.)

So, I hope my little rant has got you thinking.
Now can we move on and please stop regurgitating things tat were never really funny to begin with?
Please?

Evolution

I truly believe that one of the reasons that I love the internet so much is because it is always changing.
Change does not scare me. I enjoy the opportunity to challenge myself and learn more by experiencing different things.

Just this week, a Yahoo and Bing have announced a collaboration that some feel may change the search engine landscape dramatically.
Some fear this change and others will embrace the new opportunities that are sure to arise from it.

Luckily for me, the comic I have done kinda, sorta fits into this theme.

I intended it to be a little commentary on how some social network users cannot wait to share every little detail of their lives. It could also be viewed as a comment about our reliance on technology to spread information.

But perhaps…
Just maybe……
..it is a funny comic about a fish, and that is all.

After all, as Homer Simpson so eloquently put it to Marge

“cartoons don’t have any deep meaning. They’re just stupid drawings that give you a cheap laugh.”

By the way – feel free to comment, or tell me what you think of my comics, or the lame posts I add under them. I am so starved of online interaction that I either get your comments or will be forced to return to *shudder* trolling myspace…

Prevent Hashtag Abuse

Hashtag abuse is on the rise globally.
Random overuse of the poor little hashtag for the purposes of flagging things that people will probably not ever search for again.
Some feel it is funny to commit hashtag abuse over & over again.
But spare a thought for the un-noticed victims…………..

FailWhale gets a second job published on 1 Comment on FailWhale gets a second job

It seems everyone is doing it tough these days.
Many good people are losing their jobs, or having working hours reduced, forcing them to look for alternative income sources.
I sometimes wonder what “Faily” does when we don’t see him floating around in the chauffeur-driven corporate tweet net.Continue reading FailWhale gets a second job
